Precision CNC Routing and Component Production for Commercial Projects

At Apply Works, we provide high-capacity CNC machining from our workshop in Falmouth, Cornwall, supporting designers, architects, contractors and product developers with precision-cut components and production-ready parts for furniture, interior systems and architectural fittings.

Our CNC capability is structured around efficient production, consistent accuracy and commercial reliability — ensuring that your digital designs translate into buildable, install-ready parts.

CNC Routers

We operate two robust industrial-rated CNC routers with large working areas (2500 mm × 1300 mm × 70 mm), automatic tool changers and vacuum beds for secure, efficient processing. This setup enables us to machine components accurately, competitively and at scale — from complex 2D and 2.5D profiles to precision repeat runs.

Materials and Capabilities

We routinely machine a broad range of sheet and panel materials, including:

Plywood and hardwood plywood
MDF, chipboard, OSB
Specialty substrates (Valchromat, phenolic, etc.)
Laminates, acrylics and foams

For thicker sections, we can machine individual faces and prepare parts for lamination into a final assembly. We also provide scoring, engraving and shaping operations as required, and advise on tooling and joint tolerances based on your project requirements.

Technical Collaboration and Design Support

We support projects right from the technical preparation phase:

Review CAD files and advise on manufacturability
Measure supplied materials for accurate thickness and tolerances
Suggest adjustments to optimise material use and production efficiency

This collaborative approach reduces design rework and ensures parts are machined correctly the first time.

Optimised Production and Waste Reduction

Our nesting software maximises material utilisation and minimises waste, helping you reduce cost and lead time without compromising quality.

GET A QUOTE

1. Get in touch and tell us what you need to achieve.

Send us a drawing to info@applyworks.co - accepted file types include .dxf, .dwg, .ai, .eps, .pdf. If you haven't got a CAD drawing then don't worry, we can create one for you. We can also provide design and drawing services to help get your product/parts machine ready.

2. Give us some detail - Materials? Quantities?

Specify the material you want to use, and the quantity of products/parts you'd like machined

3. We'll put together a quote

We'll aim to respond with a quote within 24 hours. Larger jobs will require more time but we'll tell you this. If we think changes could be made to your drawings in order to save material or time then we'll say so. We'll also quote for materials if required.

4. Happy? Then we'll schedule your work in.

Once you're happy to proceed then we'll book your job in. Smaller jobs are usually turned around within 5 days. For larger jobs we'll let you know. If you're in a real hurry then let us know and we'll try our best to help.
